They were married after graduation and proceeded to build successful careers and a beautiful close-knit family who loved nothing more than to spend time together. While his education propelled his career and his fraternity brothers are still among his lifelong friends, the most important connection he made in college was with the love of his life, Toni Tadlock. Steve’s time at Southern Miss was instrumental in shaping his life. He graduated with a construction engineering degree in 1982 and endowed a scholarship in the program. Steve attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he served in Campus Crusade for Christ and was vice president of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He was a member of the Army Reserve and National Guard for 25 years, attaining the rank of Major. Steve graduated from Hattiesburg High in 1978, where he was quarterback of the football team, and was awarded the D.I.
